BSW or Logic 7 for 2011 with HiFi

Just got my 2011 328i with HiFi sound and not very impressed. I am not looking for a top end system, but something that is balanced and relatively clear. At higher volume it just hurts my ears.

I am considering BSW stage 1, but my car has no rear tweeters, so seems kinda useless to get a component system for the back and use only the midrange.

I was also considering getting just the BSW component set for the front, but it say that an upgraded amp is required and I am not looking to spend that much money right now.

Another option is to pick up a set of Logic 7 front components and JL XD600/6 amp, but I am not sure if there is a crossover involved or do they just drop right in.

Or another option is to keep the current speakers for now and just upgrade the amp. But I am not sure if this will clear up the sound at all.

Logic 7 tweeters have a high pass filter inline. You can set the high pass for the mids with the amp. I have a few logic 7 mids if your interested. I don't have the tweeters though.

Did you read the Audio Table of Contents sticky

There are a lot of options for the Hi Fi system other systems than the two you
mentioned.

Just the amp will make things better but how long the speakers last with the extra power is up for debate.

Thanks for the input. Decided to go with BSW for a cleaner install. I called them up and they said they I will just need to cut a small hole for the rear tweeters.

Daniyam,

Can you please comment once you've installed your BSW Stage 1 kit? I'm thinking of doing the same thing as you, and would love some real world feedback.

Will your system essentially be the stock amp powering the BSW Stage 1 kit along with the stock underseat subs?

Thank you,

-J

Yup. Only I am considering buying just the front mids and tweeters instead of the entire kit. I am alone in the car 99% of the time and can't even hear the rear speakers so no point of spending extra $250. You can get just the front speakers for $299 from them. I'll post a quick review once I get it. No time to work on the car for another month or so.
