Fitting LCI Professional Stereo into pre-LCI car

Hi,
Just wonders if LCI Professional stereo will fit in pre-LCI car (already fitted with Professional edition).
IF yes, will I require coding and if yes, what will I need to code?

Lastly, is there any benefit of fitting LCI stereo into pre-LCI?
IS there any difference in sound output?
Thanks.

Although later radios shipped with more recent firmware etc. the only difference I know of is that after a certain year, the SAT tuner became internal to the radio itself. It should work.

The knobs are different . If it has built in bluetooth and usb then youll need to change the production date of the car then add 6FL and $6NN to your vo.

There is no bluetooth label on the stereo and it is made by Alpine.
Will I need coding?

It will perfectly fit, no need to do anything besides coding. Did it to my friends e90 from buisness to pro plus active cabin vents

The real question is... why Business and not Professional? "Upgrading" your Business from non-LCI to LCI will give you no upgrade at all.

Just had a quick look. Both are professional. I have upgraded from pre-lci to lci professional radio and results are amazing. Lci radio is 25x4 and my previous one was 15x4 I guess.
Also coded it to hi-fi and results are much much better.

Author is talking about Business Head Unit, so stop talking about Professional...

You are going to add:
- Chrome knobs
- MP3 (No ID3-Tag support so it has a very poorly Mp3 management)
- Better Dongs
- Better PDC sound
That's all.

You need to code the PDC ecu if you have it and maybe the Kombi too.
Of course, it is strongly recommended to recode the Head Unit too for adapt it to your specific car.

I did that steps with my Business to Professional Upgrade (+USB|Bluetooth|Mp3...) and fits perfectly in my case.

Regards.

PS: If you need more info or help, don't hesitate to contact me.

Other question is if you want USB/Ipod or Bluetooth with your Business HU.
In that case, you must install a retrofit kit for Business like 65 41 0 427 467 which provides you an Ipod/USB connection perfctly integrated with your BMW

For the Bluetoot, the better option is a Parrot MKi.

You have more info at this thread:

It is a review of my old sound system.

Regards.
