Raced a modded 2012 S4
Watch out for these cars, it took me by surprise. When the car came up next to me I thought it was just a stock S4, I was wrong. We went at it from around 60-125ish. Both runs we were dead even. His car had a DCT transmission in it as well, so really no driver error on him.
Pulled over and talked to the owner for a few. It had an aftermarket supercharger pulley (more boost) APR tune and some sort of CAI, no exhaust mods. Claimed it makes around 390 AWHP. I was just looking around to do some research and it seems like most of those cars with his mods are around the 380-400awhp range. So not bad for me since I know I am making less then that. Probably around 330awhp. The S4 is much heavier however, so thats where the difference comes in. Not a bad outcome, now if I was in my Cobra....... |

11.8s 60-130, if you believe that, with just a tune.

I'm not sure of the exact weight but it makes sense that it would be at least a couple hundred pounds more than a 335i. Which is only a slight advantage ~20hp maybe?
The beauty to me is to see the peak power rpm of 7200rpm, meaning it has a longer power band (like the M3) than the 335i ~5500rpm peak. |

Wow. So our engine does very well then
I almost closed the deal with the S4 few months ago then went with the 135i instead. I had B5 S4 before and love the AW. |

I've driven both (own the 135) and def prefer the drivig characteristics of the 1 over the s4. Big, heavy, not fun to drive and light steering. Good car, but not an enthusiasts car if you are used to well handling rwd platforms. It can't hide the fact it weighs 4k lbs Nice run btw, op

Yeah I keep looking at S4s but I've never driven one and I'm not really sold on the styling inside or out. The weight is also a concern as I heard it's about 200lbs more than a 335xi (about 4000 lbs).
But DCT, AWD and limited-slip factory options = awesome. I wish I could get that in an F30 when my 2011 XI's lease is up. N55 needs a real turbo though (FTL). I don't think I'd take down a fully done S4 in a full 1/4mi or highway roll as-is.

When rolling the advantage is a lot less and no different to a DCT equipped BMW. Stock B8 S4's normally run around 106mph trap speeds and between 110-114mph when fettled. So no quicker when rolling to a modded x35i.. |
