That is correct. The n52 is made to run on 91 from the factory.

Andrew, can you guys tune for water/meth injection on an N/A n52? I lucked into a free kit and thought, what the hell. Might as well use it lol!

I have a simon tool.

Hey Andrew@activeautowerke, i was wondering if having a bmw performance intake and exhaust affect the hp gain when doing the ecu tune. If so how big of a difference compare to a stock tune? Thanks

**edit** sorry, went back and read the OP.

Though, i'm thinking there's no way there's just ONE shop in WA that offers AA tuning... is there any other way of knowing who offers AAtuning in my area besides your pre-constructed list?

I would think the gains would be over 7-10 Whp with those mods installed.

No clue we have never done any type of testing on meth with an N/a engine.

My assumption would be it would be a similar tune to your race gas one. The meth injection would allow for a leaner fuel mix maybe?

When I talked to the guys over at Nitrous Express they sell the Meth kits for the N52, and the sell a sweet Nitrous kit for the N52. The HP you will gain from meth is not worth it. You would better off running a 50-75 shot of nitrous. I know a few people that have run the nitrous and have not had any problems. That is what I'm looking at doing is nitrous instead of the meth kit after I looked into the gains of a meth kit.

I got the kit for free, I am mechanically inclined, and already own the AA Simon tool. There is no out of pocket for me here. A nitrous kit is not worth the short duration for me. I do not drag race my car.

Sorry didn't see the free part. Hopefully AA can come up with something. Keep us posted, im really wondering how much AA can push out of our cars with the
Meth kit. I think a meth kit should last you about a month, if I recall correctly when I talked to my service friends. That would be really cool if you could get like 20hp or something out of it.

I highly doubt AA will bother tuning an N52 with meth. The gains aren't going to be there and there is a whole host of new BMW platforms to work on. The only tunes for N52's are: single stage manifold, 3 stage, and catless variants of both.

The stage 2 is installed with the 3 stages intake manifold I put 2 weeks ago. As I drove the 3 stages without the tune, I felt a little bit more torque than stock but I also felt the power drop when the DISA open and a few other throttle issues, sometimes.

Now with the AA tune I don't feel these issues anymore exept that the car lag a little bit at 4k. But, as we did clear the adaptations I think it's more the automatic transmission that need to re-adapt than an engine lag. I did a new run tonight with the manual steptronic and I couldn't feel the lag so much. I feel a lot more torque and power than before and this is very welcome with the heavy e91.

So, I'm very happy with the short term results and I expect more throttle stability after 200-300 km.

Anybody got the same feeling with an AT?

BTW, if you need a reseller in the Montreal area, VAG Motorsport is good! The service is as expected and the cost is right.
