Someone, edit the first post and stuff all these acronyms/initialisms into one post, or sticky this thread, or sticky another thread. A list of all these abbreviations of terms would be very useful, as it is hard for many newbies (many of them technically inclined in other fields) to venture into this field. It's loaded with jargon, and is not always friendly. I'd even advocate not only having a list of acronyms/initialisms, but linking them to a relevant wikipedia/howstuffworks/something else for further information.
