I change it once a year, but we only put on a couple thousand miles each year. So far this summer we are up to 500, which is 200 more than last year total.

I know the car lets you know when to get service and what not but is there really an advantage of getting your oil change beforehand? Sorry if I'm naive new to forum.

In the past, i changed oil only every 5k with an extractor (A4), and the filter every other change (10k). For my 335 I'll probably either continue that cadence, or do it seasonally (spring and fall) going into the warm or cold season. I put about 12-13k miles per year on my car.
