2007 E92 & 2009 E90 sound question??? - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Recently traded in my 2007 E92 AT for a 2009 E90 MT. Love the new car but sounds a lot quieter....The E92 in sport mode made some burble (if that is a word). The E90 just sounds muted even in first gear and reved... Any ideas as what is the reason for this????

I think you posted on the wrong section, but to answer your question, have you done the golf-tee mod? It would make it a tad louder

Have not done the golf tee mod on the E90 or did it to the E92. Could it be programing by BMW on the new car???

Wrong section, '07 E92 + the '09 E90 are both the N54 motor.

IIRC, the E92 exhaust system has an X-pipe from the factory while the E90 does not. The X-pipe will accentuate the exhaust note, which explains why WOT the E92 was louder
