I did my first AX of the season yesterday with the Maverick Region PCA at Texas Motor Speedway. I like this location, because the surface is relatively smooth and doesn't chew up my daily driver tires as bad as some of the others. The problem is, it's also very dusty, so you spend your morning runs skating around the place. I just ran my dd setup with stock sport suspension and Hankook Ventus V12 tires on 18" style 189 wheels.

Here's a video of my fastest run. I actually ran almost a full second quicker on the run after this, but I got penalized for hitting a cone. Official results aren't online yet, so I don't know how I fared against the rest, but it sure was fun

For the video, I used two GoPros, Harry's Lap Timer Pro on the iPhone 4, and built this gauge from scratch using DashWare. Watch in HD if you can...

There's actually a more popular AX location that gets used pretty often by the local clubs. It's a massive lot near a small airport, and laps there can be in the 90-100 second range! Problem is, the surface there is pretty bad, and the drive is a little far for me.
