Proposed Allsport Grand Prix event

Alright guys, I wanted to get some feedback on how much interest their might be in an event like this.

Allsport Grand Prix, located in Sterling, is the only indoor Kart track in our area. I am proposing getting an eight to eleven man field together for a mini gran prix.

We would reserve the venue for our private event and spectators are welcome.
The event consists of a 25 lap qualifying round and a 40 lap race.
It runs $85 per person for the whole event.
We need a minimum of 8 and a max of eleven. We could also double book for two events if we had enough interest and had at least 16 committed people.

Despite being the portly sort, I am willing to put my skills to the test against some of you lightweights.

What say you DC METRO GANG?

... I guess that F1 racing on TV is getting to you, huh?

I'm interested also in finding out how many folks we can get up there and what day is most workable for most.

Are you sure you haven't done this before ?

It is good fun. I've been meaning to try and get something set up, but summer, as usual, has gotten away from me.

It's good exercises and there is always plenty of Sh*t talking going on before, during and after the event. Somebody will have bragging rights for sure.

I hope we can find someone to take some decent pictures during the race. Right now my money is on Spool, seeing as he probably weighs as much as my right leg.

The Grand Prixs aren't a good deal. Better if we do arrive and drive sessions on Mon/Tues. They are 12 mins sessions opposed to normal 8mins, and it's three sessions (for members) for $40, that's like half price for the wheel time you get.

You're right about that, and that is typically when I go as well. Buying in blocks of ten is also as good idea as you save even more and can race longer on Mondays and Tuesdays.

The fun of the GP is that it is an organized "event" so to speak and is less of a "just get out there and go" sort of thing. For some, 65 laps will be a lot, for others, it will be a warm up. I was just trying to find the happy medium. We could try and make the event for a time where those who wanted to participate in the mini GP could and then when it was over those who wanted to just do the arrive and drive then have that option.

At this point I am just trying to see who has an interest. If we have enough people, then I can see who wants to do what when. I am sure we can find a way to make most everyone happy.
