Water Pump E90

Engine temp red, then limp mode. Got the car towed to a local shop. They guy isn't 100% sure because the engine was still warm (he said he'd be able to confirm in the morning), but thinks the electric water pump on my 08 335i is dead.

He said the pumps cost around $500... is that about right?

He also said it's because the oil catch can I installed leaked oil... I've had that can on for 50k miles, is it just now leaking? Wouldn't I have seen oil in the driveway?

I replaced mine for $250 and replaced the thermostat for $100 just last week. Got an awesome deal from a forum member (yes, brand new).
$500 is a reasonable price. Its the price most sponsors will quote.
Just wait for the install price, that's the killer, and that's why I did it myself.
