Can a co-signer make you sell your car?
NOT MY CAR!!
One of my retarded empolyees got the bright idea to have his 18 year olds girlfreinds grandmother co-sign on a car. Well 2 weeks later they split up and now granny wants the car back. Can she do this? My employee is 1st on the registration and granny is 2nd. I was under the impression that as long as he is current on payments he can keep the car. Not saying its the right thing to do, but leagally?

Not posting anything helpful, but what kind of car? lol
What line of business are you in, was it restaurants Take my comment with a grain of salt, but I don't think the co-signer has power over that as long as the car is being taken care for. Did she approach your employee?

As a co-signer she is obligated to pay the loan if it defaults. She has zero control over the car unless her name is on the title. If just her name is on the title then she can sell the car, if not then there is nothing she can do.
Plus, what they said above ![]() |

![]() But, like everyone else said, a co-signer can't make you sell the car.

what if he kept the car, didn't make payments, and just messed up her credit as revenge?
Cause technically he's not stealing the car if his name is on the title is her name on the title too or just the loan?

How is messing up your own credit at the same time revenge? Besides she would more than likely be notified of non payment.
