HELP: Should I replace shocks, struts, dampers?

I have a 335i 07 with 57k miles NO sports package

I purchased an Eibach Pro Kit springs to put on my stock shocks/struts.

I've been hearing that this may be a bad idea as my stock parts would only last me a month or so....

Please any feedback if I should wear out my stock parts or just replace everything now... Or return my springs and forget about lowering my car I do not want to drop 1k to get it lowered

Thanks

Don't reuse your oe dampers w/Eibach pro kit springs. Wait until you're ready to replace the dampers and install springs at the same time. You're going to need an alignment when you replace your oe springs.

I know about the alignment and I was quoted 350 for the job installing the springs

I've had the car for over a year and I'm doing it for look and handling

good comment why go thru labor twice, given your cost concerns.

not a bad idea to ask these questions and read up on it so you can decide all pros cons costs. Lowering looks nice but from what I've read, sometimes there are unintended costs / consequences. I've thought about it but decided it's not for me.

in your case (you have the standard suspension), you might also consider some oem alternatives, like oem sport suspension springs / shocks along with sport suspension guide supports. You might find a good deal on lightly used parts, and it should lower you 0.5 inch.

+1

With 57k miles on the car, you are close to being due for new dampers anyway. If you put these Eibach springs on your car with the OEM suspension, it will not wear out in a month, but it will quickly increase the wear rate on your dampers. Not sure what the Pro kit does, but an H&R Sport Spring would put you at 1.3" lower in the front and 1.2" lower in the rear. Pair that with some Koni sports, and you would be good to go.

As TCK mentioned, your oe dampers are close to being done and pretty much sucked when they were new. I'd get Koni FSD or yellows to go with the Eibach pk springs. There are tons of reviews in this forum..

Yes, do it with springs. Will only cost you extra what the dampers cost, install will/should be the same no matter if just springs or both.

Alignment is needed regardless of either route.

Thanks for the feedback.

I also heard you should wait 2 weeks before getting an alignment once the springs are installed. Is this true?

Yes it's true, takes around a week or two for the new springs to settle to the actual height they will remain at.

Not life or death if you get it aligned with install, but if you can do so then wait.
