That is the 335i now officially the second longest I've ever kept a car.

I like change and through not covering as many miles, I beginning to think I can finally do something I've always wanted.

Looking at the Esprit this kind of thing would scare the life out of me:

work carried includes, Full Engine Overhaul, Clutch and Fly Wheel, Turbos, Timing Belt, Steering Rack, both Cats, Sump, Leather Interior

Makes the 335i HP fuel pump issue seem like a drop in the ocean.

That one has mega miles for an Esprit and you would hope if it is done right you wouldn't need to do it again soon.

The interior in the TVR is something else entirely. Beautiful. not to mention the exhaust note. Out of the two that would be my choice.

Cerbera. . . One of my all time favourite cars. Caught my attention watching it on a Jeremy clarkson video thrashing some cars down a 1 mile race.

Really depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for long term ownership of a car to tinker with on winter nights and drive very occasionally in summer, don't mind waiting weeks for parts and spending more £££ on maintenance than on tyres, taxes and fuel then these are the cars for you.

If you want something to drive every weekend when weather allows, put on a reasonable mileage, including some tours to Europe or around Scotland, have an easy time with servicing and freely available parts then sell easily after a couple of years when the itch returns then these are not the best cars.

I've never been a TVR fan. Several friends have had love/hate relationships with the marque, loving them when they run but recognizing they will also try to kill you at some point during every journey. Maybe that's their charm?

If you don't have to rely on your car and you have the bank balance to shrug of a potentially large bill then why not. If you can't say yes to both of these then please move along.

I wouldn't touch the Lotus. Too expensive to put right IMO. As for the TVR would if I could be sure the mechanical as 100% as they're known for engine problems, which could work out expensive.

I would touch neither car over you're 335i to be perfectly honest. 13 & 14 year old cars to start with, build quality of the TVR (and probably the lotus) leaves much to be desired not to mention unreliability...They will drive shite compared to your current car..They are old cars that are good to look at but not to own!

Guy just few doors down from me owns a TVR cerebera and it is simply beautiful. The noise it makes with the slightest of push on the pedal.. the grunt and what not is simply music to my ears.

Agree. Don't think of it as a 335 replacement. Totally different animal.

Forget what everyone else tells you. If you really one then go for it. Even if you get six months motoring and can afford to lose a few £K's (at best) then at least you have done what you wanted to do.

Personally, I would opt for the TVR.

You only live once, trouble is the TVR may just end up proving it!
