This has to be one of the best BMW ads ever made! It is exactly those little things that make me love driving Bimmers.

I don't know what it's like in the Alpha Quadrant, but here in Texas, I've never seen a 7 series being chauffeured. And I see a dozen 7ers every day on the road. Not saying it doesn't happen, rather it is a poor way to communicate the benefits of the brand/model, when marketing to a wide audience.

Two issues:

1) Marketing a 7-series is to market to a Target audience, not a wide one.

2) Just because you don't roll in circles of people who get driven around, doesn't mean it doesn't exist in a big way outside your radar.

It's interesting how sometimes people's feathers are ruffled when a lifestyle marketing campaign presents a lifestyle more affluent than their own. The reaction is often to either aspire to it, or to reject it as pompous.

Exactly my point. This ad is (incorrectly, IMO) targeting a niche of the 7-series buyers with a mass market audience. And it's doing it poorly.

LOL. Yes, my feathers are ruffled because I don't get driven around in a 7er. Even though you quoted my post, I think you missed my point, completely.

BMW USA amazingly didn't change it at all. It just aired during the Olympics opening ceremony.

The F10M was being driven by a woman wearing pearls and an evening gown.

Does the ///M division even know who it is anymore?!

Yeah I didn't see that this was their ad to begin with. Usually they take the good ads that BMWUK comes up with and then makes them worse. Or at least thats what I have noticed.
