its a weak factory o-ring gasket thats been known to leak.

A silicone tb connection with a t-bolt clamp makes a better and tighter seal.

O-ring on my ish is holding just fine

AND an O-ring gasket wouldn't be a difficult part to find a higher quality gasket. If the ER CP was such a flawed design (or other similar TB-connection designs like the AA or BMS CPs), then explain to me why it's being used on several very-high HP + purpose built track cars

Any other input on this? Is it possible/easy to modify it so it will work with meth?

This charge pipe has worked great for me after I modified it. The sensor hole was just a tad too small so I made it a little larger where the sensor slides in snug. The meth bung they use is too tall so I shaved it down and re tapped it. I also purchased the right size couplers since the ones provided are a standard 3" which don't fit.

My lease is up in a month and I'll be posting it for sale. I had it painted in a wrinkle finish to have and OEM look. You can't tell the car has a charge pipe unless you know what your looking for.

The ER / Factory C-clip design is the superior mounting method over the generic silicone coupler. We've had several customers switch out their charge pipes with the silicone couplers for the ER one due to leaks and popping off. The BMS charge pipe also uses the C-clip connector.

Silicone couplers will eventually blow off- source: many turbo cars. They are more easily produced and allow for greater design slop, while the C-clip ones will always fit and are held on by more than static friction.

The current version is different than the older version we used to sell. This current version retains the OEM throttle body connection which provides a more secure connection to the throttle body.

This is correct from an engineering perspective as well. O-ring seals are about the best/cheapest option to properly seal anything. The only thing you have to ensure is proper axis/axis alignment of the joint. O-rings are usually less than $1/ea too and are found everywhere. No need to buy OEM to replace. O-rings don't last forever though.

Silicone couplers can and do work, but are almost broken as soon as you put that textured powder-coating on the pipes (this seems to be on EVERY available charge pipe for our cars), and try to seal over it. Air leaks between the valleys of the texturing and the coupler. You can improve the seal 100% by wire brushing the PCoat off underneath the couplers. The good part of the couplers is that they allow more axis/axis misalignment and may function better as the engine pitches.
