Does the e90 have same control arm bushes as the e46?

Lol just realised that the e90 doesnt have a lower control arm!
No, but you have a lower wishbone.
And a tension strut.
Both have a bush one end and a balljoint at the other.
Either will knock.
The front tension strut is hydroelastic, if its screwed it will often leak fluid.
And lifting on / off the throttle quickly often produces a knock too.

Look here at 9 and 14:

Cheers mate great advice. Next thing i will be looking into. When parking can feel a resistance in the steering so theres something wrong. its a case of removing each culprit. proly didnt even have to fork out for the wheels but at least there not buckled now lol

Hi chaps, found this thread due to a desperate search.

I have this same issue with my 2 year old 20000 mile 335d as well as a couple of added bonuses it pulls to the left and get light and floaty at speed more noticable from 80mph onwards.

It's been to BMW for alignment 3 times the wheels swapped from one side to the other, had a new rack fitted, new rear spring, new tyres run flat and some f1s. Still no better.

Have noticed very slight buckle on a rear wheel but it doesn't pull right if they are swapped around.

BMW checked all the bushes etc even released any built up tension in the subframes still no better. They actually had the car for 3 weeks. they have been very good actually.

It will be going back this week but has anybody have any other ideas.

This car just doesn't drive like a BMW so its not my imagination.

Thanks guys.

My saga still continues... Latest tech has put new power steering fluid in as there was a really bad burnt smell to it. Steering now seems less sticky but all my other symptoms are still present. He reckons my front left camber is out so booking it in for its 6th alignment..

Let me know if you fix this as i get exactly the same issues as yourself.
