E90 320d exhaust?

I got a tailpiece recently on my 320d my mate does exhausts and was Saying he could cut out my back and middle box and put in a stainless steel pipe,

Does anyone know if that would make a difference to the noise of the car?

Thanks for any advice people

I can tell you removing the back box will make no difference to the sound so you will need to take the middle one out for sure and see how that goes.

As above, an aftermarket back box will add a little rumble but no real volume.
