Help! K+dcan cable from one step electronic communication problem?

Bought the cable and installed Ncs exper using Xxxjecxxxs guide. The problem is that when I connect the cable to the car only the battery dot is on and ignition dot is always off. Did I got a bad cable? Btw my ignition is pushed on but engine is not running.
I'm using window vista 32bit. Installed vcp from Ftdi chip (latest version with no FIFO buffer steeings) but I looked at the registry and set them to 8. I believe everything is set up and installed correctly. My car is a 2008 BMW 335xi. If anyone have any experience with this problem please help me out .

Thank you!

When I coded my car last week the same thing happened to me, but I was still able to code the CAS and NFRM modules. I updated the daten files to v42 and after that I noticed INPA loader and both dots turned black. Also most people with a lot of coding experience here will recommend not using Vista. Windows 7 32-bit or Windows XP seem to be the best choices for stability.

Thanks for replying the post, i actually got both ignition and battery light on.
Adding the OBD.ini under windows fixed the problem. But when i read info from airbag, it give an error message and connection status turns to busy. Is it windows vista that gives these problems? Or i need to further configure the system? any information would be appreciated. I wonder what's the latest Daten file for 2008 E90?
