Fog Light Damage
Hey Guys,
Woke up this morning only to notice my right bottom side fog light was shattered. Looks like it got smashed in. Not sure how it happened. Would anyone know the OEM part number for it? And is it a simple task where I can take it to a non-bmw dealership for them to do cheaper? I got quoted a rip off price at the dealership for it. Looking for tips/alternatives to fixing this. Thanks. |

Here is the link to your fog light just double check the year and everything making sure it is the correct part. That web site is a huge help.

Above link is for those of us with Msport style fog lights. I have a similar problem to OP but they are not shattered. One side has a 1" long crack and the other side has a "star" like impact spot and a long crack too. I have found the housings for ~$78 per side. I am trying to understand how to remove the whole assy. I have read several DIY descriptions of light bulb change out but I've going a fair bit deeper than that. The DIY talks about going in through the wheel well liner and also removing the bottom close out cover (well undoing the front corners and pulling it down some is more apt). I see little mesh grills surrounding the front of the lense. Not totally sure how to fully remove the whole assy. Any thoughts? I have searched on both here and bimmerfest. |

I'm specifically trying to see if I remove part 2 from above diagram in order to remove the fog light assy. I have a strong feeling the fog light assy is mounted to part number 6. thanks |

Check www.rockauto.com; found your fog assembly for $56. Might not be exactly OEM but for the price, it should work just fine.

My interest lies in "how to change the assy", not where I can buy it the cheapest. By the way, I have read that the cheaper assys melt from the light's wattage and that it was advised to get the OEM part. I have found the OEM part for as low as $77 per side. Here is an example of a good replacement for an okay deal. It is curious why the non-msport ones are barely discounted ($8 less) but the msport ones are $70 cheaper than list.
