Alex Zanardi wins Paralympic Gold!
 This is fantastic, ex Champ car driver Alex Zanardi who lost both his legs in an horrific race car crash in Germany has won Gold at the London 2012 Paralympics. This guy is the true definition of a sporting great! It was brilliant that he recovered from his injuries and competed in the world touring car championship in a converted BMW but this is just amazing. The most tantalizing news to come out of Zanardi's time at the 2012 London Paralympics--at least in terms of auto racing--could come to reality in 2013.
"He told a reporter yesterday for me to watch out because he wants to race at the Indy 500 next year, said Vasser, "and he wasn't kidding and that's not how we're taking it." With hand control technology having advanced greatly in recent years, fielding Zanardi at Indy in IndyCar's new Dallara DW12 chassis is now a genuine option. "I've got to get him in a car at Indy next year," Vasser explained. "I spoke to Chip [Ganassi] and said we need to make it happen between the two of us before somebody else steps in to run him; he belongs driving for me or Chip or in a car we run together. I'm serious. They had a special edition of the NSX made for him. It's a very limited edition car - only 50 made.
