Awesome runs!! So why not even it up with the JB4 on map 7? Don't know why he keeps running map 5 which has less boost than map 7.

uhh, map 7 is 16.5 pounds and tapers more than my map 5 with the e85 in the tank. Thats why. So if i can use map 5, hit 16.5 pounds, and taper less up top than map 7, why would i use map 7 over 5? Have you been living in a cave and not seen what map 5 + e85 does with the jb4?

the first page of the jb4 sticky says what boost levels map 7 runs.

See comment above. Check out the affect of gearing between a 6mt and 6at car as well. A 6at car whores 6mt cars in roll races and at the track.

The Cobb tuned car runs 18psi peak. It runs the same or a little less throughout the remainder of the power band. The taper on deans tune has a more negative slope than the JB4. I tuned a 6at car that night as well - wonder if we could get her and stucks to line up on that african track as well

Map 7 is usually limited to 16.5 psi @ about 5,000rpm . Map 5 "targets" 17psi, but I can over boost to 17-18.5psi with an E40-E50 blend between 4,800-5,700rpm.

O/P great video, but why only run E25 with the JB4? The PTF on the COBB car is definitely working as advertised

The consensus on this platform is as long as you have intake, downpipes, intercooler, tune, you are "FBO", as the cat back doesn't do much on this car.

Technically, you can bolt on a upgraded turbo or single turbo too, so the full bolt on is a loose terminology throughout many platforms.

because i had filled up with 93 2 days prior lol. i tried to run it down as much as i could so i would have some room for e85 in the tank, but was only able to run down about quarter of a tank. I showed laid black 335i my receipt for 4.1 gallons of e85 that i had purchased just prior to meeting up with him in africa lol. 335i tank is 16 gallons, so 4 gallons is 25%.

Exactly... And you get premiere service. My friend just spent $1100 at "unnamed" shop to fine tune his Cobb. Sadly enough, i still believe my JB4 is quicker and seeing what Jake does, he could have gotten him more HP.

however, I ran my friend's JB4 335is (intakes, DP) on 14.5 psi and I was COBB Stg. 2+ (intakes, DP, FMIC) on 18.5 psi.... we were neck and neck... so boost doesn't seem to matter as much imo.

You may be losing power somewhere or his motor is a bit on the extra healthy side. With your mods, you should be running very low 12s and should walk away from him.

With that said, JB4 on 18.5 psi is a night and day difference than JB4 on 14.5psi. If you really are neck and neck with him at 14.5psi, and you were to run him at the same amount of boost as you were, he would have easily left you standing still.

It's obvious in your 60-130 vid, your clutch slips till 5200 and catches, that's why the RPMs studded for a second. Fwiw, I had the same issue when I started running E85.

Its a good problem to have your car is making good power! Once you upgrade that clutch you will be even faster since you will be putting more power to the ground

I have done it 12.1 is best I have ran multiple 12.2 runs and I usually pull 12.4 or less when on the Stg 2+ aggressive 93 octane. I posted slips and vids of runs on here before but here are some slips from 6 months to a year ago I was able to find that I have.
