I missed the ending part as the phone went as my mate was telling me to watch it

What was the end result?

I'm can't wait to see the face of the service manager I spoke to last week who said he knew nothing about it & don't believe everything you read on the internet

Same, asked the service advisor two weeks ago and was told they were not aware of any security problems!

Looking forward to calling my dealer tomorrow. I have BMW extended warranty but I hope that doesn't change anything.

I was going to move my obd port but worry that if I do BMW then have an excuse to say "you've tampered with the obd port blah blah"..

Some of the dealerships that they secretly filmed on the show made me chuckle..

I was in my dealership this morning and asked if he'd be watching watchdog.

He said yes, and explained that a similar thing was happening with other cars, but there was zero mention of a free security update.

Mine's at the dealers as we speak. Rattles! Something else to mention I guess. Odd how they keep a straight face when you ask them about this.

I think they might struggle with that argument if you have simply unscrewed it from the side wall and plugged an extension in!

Saw the program... Well done Watch Dog and well handled in terms of not showing too much!

Shame on BMW for this.. I live in a drama world where I would expect more... In reality it has taken misery and people power to get this flagged...well done to the old bill too for their part in making people aware!

I don't hold my breath but I will call the 0800 number tomorrow and see what happens..

So can anyone with an affected car just ring this number even if you didn't purchase it from BMW etc.

I didn't purchase my car from BMW - I don't see how they can avoid it because of this. Its still a BMW regardless of who I purchased it from.

Go on then. Someone stick the number so I can give them a call tomorrow and see what they have to say. Have a feeling you could be on hold for a while.
