Can anyone suggest good winter tires for 2010 M3

Hi guys,
I just bought a 2010 M3 and I live in Vancouver,BC. I was told that even with winter tires this car would not be drive able? If anyone living in Vancouver and drives an M3 all year around can you
Please suggest some good tires that will keep the drive safe and any other suggestions?
Greatly appreciated, thanks!!

I am no expert but

Coming from Michigan I know snow....and I know RWD cars are not ideal...however, my last three daily drivers were all RWD. You will want to get a good set of winter tires and rims that don't cost a fortune (this was advice given to me here because I never used to go "seasonal". You will not want to drive with aggression. You may still have an issue or two but I only have them on black ice...and I could be in a FWD Z71 and would have the same problem on ice. Have you lived your whole life in that area? If so, I would bet your pretty adept at winter driving and with some common sense you will be fine.

I'm also in the market for some winter tires and rims. Any suggestions from people already with winter tires? I assume i'll need 18" to clear my brakes? I drive a 335i with sports package.

are you going to be running snow tires on the stock 19's? I did that on my g37 coupe with blizzak lm-60 and lm-25. lm-25 is discontinued now so lm60 is your only blizzak choice. They were alright tires, a bit on the noisy side but I think most winter tires are. Snow tires have soft side walls so dont drive hard in them

Tire Rack

I have sports package as well and I think I am dropping to 17" package for the snows. Thinner tires. Tire Rack works with Basney BMW and are putting the package together. They know the rims I will need to clear brakes.....

I used Conti Extreme Winter Contacts on my last car (A4 Quattro) and was very pleased. I switched from some Yokohama all-seasons to the COntis on my winter set of wheels, and the difference was night and day. Unfortunately, they aren't offered in a 18" size. :-(

For anyone buying 17" wheels, I recommend them. They were quiet (I used them for two winters), especially for a dedicated winter tire, and weren't really mushy (the size I used was a 215/50-17 on all four corners).

EDIT: Apparently there is a ContiICEContact to be offered in 18s. I'll check them out. They can be studded.
