Inflated prices in Canada, eh?

According to one of my favorite mail order suppliers http://www.rmeuropean.com

It lists for $54 and they sell for $33 US.

I use K&N in my D. The X5D filter is as thick as the brick and extremely restrictive. Not sure if the same in E90.

Autozone sells them for $39-42 I believe. They have to be a special order though.

I've read that before, I'm aware. But the fact that my truck runs higher then stock boost settings with remap I'm aware as well. X5D stock filter is double layered paper+cotton ( sort of) I've tried blowing air through it with air gun vs K&N and results were obvious, K&N allows noticeably more air through. I'm not saying it's the best drop in out there simply flows better then stock X5Ds.

No doubt. Just doesn't filter...

I have the same debate with the AC guy about pollen filters.

Engineering is all about compromise, but the data shows there is little compromise in stock filters and the extra flow is unnecessary.

I guess it does not filter dirt as well as the stock. I usually clean and recharge it every 5-6k miles. And it's pretty it's very dirty at that time during the summer months.

By my experience with K&N filter was that the oil ran thru the tubing and damaged the MAS FLOW sensor filament, wont use again instead AMSOIL filter but the cone filer is to long &" and we need one that can be no longer than 6"
