Is it possible to use tires 225/45 18" on all four wheels - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

hi, is it possible to use tires 225/45 18" on all four wheels? my E92 has not sport suspension but has 8Jx18 front wheels and 8.5Jx18 rear wheels style 189.

It seems the 225/45 is in good range for the wide 8.5Jx18 wheels, I just want to make sure no damage to the differential or transmission will occur by doing this, there are so much stories around this subject,

A lot of european guys run that size. You shouldn't have any issues but your speedometer won't read correctly. What is your reason for going up a profile? Typically I'd recommend a 225/40 or 235/40.

hi, thanks for your answer, I just like the way they look, they seem to fill a bit more the space with the fender (about 11mm).
I was concerned because I've read all kinds of myths about damaging the differential etc. One thing people find odd is me trying to use 225/45 in the rear with the wider rims, could this be an issue? rears are 8.5Jx18 and front are 8Jx18

As long as all four tires are the same, you won't damage a differential.
