I would have mushroom stamped her windshield and called it a day.

I found a yellow flat head thumb tack with a smilley face written on it stuck in the sidewall of my tire before, not sure what I did to deserve it, but I thought it was creative.

Had to buy a new tire!

Then it's up to her. She either complies or walks away. At that point you need to follow through and file a damage report with the police.

Just getting mad and ranting here doesn't fix anything.
Correct, I don't see how ANYONE could just walk away and carry on like nothing happened. Why didn't the OP ask for her insurance info and then file a report with the police? Makes no sense to just get angry and do nothing when you can do something about it.

This is exactly what I would have done. I think. My blood would be boiling at the time so I would likely choose the less legal solution that provides immediate gratification.

The police believe that such reports are a nuisance, taking them away from more important things. While I think it's wrong that people can damage other people's cars and face no consequences, it's a fact of life. I would prefer we do go back to a time when you can punch someone in the face when they commit an offense.

There's too much hate in the world. I got out of church 4 weeks ago and was traumatized by this look on her sweet face. The assailant did not leave a note or anything. Now I have the claim on my insurance as her injuries amounted to $2200. She's good as new now but whoever did this is going to hell. I wish I had the opportunity to confront the perpetrator. I'll probably have no mercy on anyone I see dinging doors.

I didn't take any other action like called the police because it only put a minor scratch that can't even really be seen on it. It will come out with compound. If there was a dent it would have been a different story.

But funny story today. I get in my parking garage and go up to the 7th level like usual. See my usual spot (where said lady opened her door on me), and there is the same biotch parked beside that spot. I literally said "hell no" and speed off and found a spot by a 330i coupe!!!
