My mileage seems to have reduced by about 10-15% on average with mixed driving (some aggressive some passive)--30 to 27. The biggest thing I've noticed though is that I can no longer get great mileage when trying. I used to be able to obtain 35-45 on long highway trips if I was being mindful of the needle, but those days are long gone. I find myself not pushing for the 35 number.
Overall though, the performance (efficiency) and performance (power) are still as amazing as ever.

Ok amigos Im getting anywhere from 21-22 mpg in the city almost the same as pre time, I guess as someone had stated it was a matter of time till the new program adapted to you.

I haven't noticed a lot of change in fuel economy since the recall, but if anything it is better. City is the same 550-680km per tank depending on driving and drivers. I just managed a best highway of 960km on a tank and am confident I could get over 1000 if fuel stops were spaced accordingly. No complaints. Works out to 6.25L/100km or 38 mpg(US). I do think the car sounds different after the recall.

The best mpg I have gotten through my '11 335d m-sport is ~31mpg. That is Los Angeles to Vegas and back in one tank, 500 round trip on 16 gallons. The OBC at that time read about 28 mpg. I actually brought my car in for two separate recalls and don't remember exactly what they were for but I do know that my mpg on the OBC went down each time. After the first recall my mpg dropped to 24.5 mpg on the OBC although I did not get any actual data. I brought the car in for service and I'm informed there is another recall. I told my service advisor about my horrible mpg but he didn't hear anything about other 335d's having poor gas milage. I get my car back and in like 2 days I already get the service engine soon light. It goes on and off and after a week just stayed off and I have not brought it in to the dealer since. Now I can only get 21 mpg on the OBC. I am going to do a actual milage to tank calculation but I'm just bummed to see the numbers this low on the OBC.

Just got done with my first full tank after having the recall service. Calculated 28.1 mpg for that tank, which is right in line with what I was getting prior to the recall.

OK, going to throw a monkey wrench into all this. For me, it may be that the AC actually uses 15% of the fuel on the highway. It got cool here for a while and with the AC off, in some short distance samples, the MPG numbers seem to be closer to what I was getting before the recall. I expect to be taking a longer trip in about a month and that will confirm if this is the case. And if is the case, why is the AC using so much power? I believe it's suppose to be a variable output compressor. Maybe that logic has been messed up. I have noticed that after on the highway a while the air is extremely cold from the vents. Would save energy if the compressor was turned down a bit and the fan turned up a bit.

I got it done yesteday. I have been googleing if anyone else seen this and ran into this forum...MPG's have fallen and something is missing from the engine compartment. They took something out off the side of the wheel well-drivers side. Now there are 3 big holes there where all the mud and snow can come into my engine compartment. Have these holes been there before?

FYI, I just received my car back after the second recall + oil change and my first two tanks have been 35mpg by true mile/gal calc (no JbD, but some spirited driving, avg speed: 36mph). Second was 32mpg with JBD (and heavier foot, avg speed: 32mph). My OBC seems to be further off though, but it will probably adjust over time.
Is it possible that some service centers may be screwing up the programming?

Indeed. Usually I see a 5 mpg spread that narrows itself down to 2 over time. This time, its been a 10 mpg spread, but its probably über-confused considering that it went from JBD 100% to no JBD to recall W/out JBD to recall with JbD. She'll firgure it out eventually.

10 % drop in mileage
I first noticed about a 10% drop after the first attempt at reprogramming. It took the dealer two tries.... I used to reliably get 34mph on flat highway at 70mph.. I am lucky to get above 30 now. City driving (without too much traffic) was giving 28-29 mpg but now it is 23-25 mpg. Repeated inquiries to the dealer service department have only netted "the engining is performing to spec's" response.

Mine has been the same.
I just got a 2nd flash at the dealer last week. See a thread I posted tonight. NOT sure but it could be related, I believe it was released a month ago.
