Thanks for the info! To be clear, the $50 won't apply to the past Aug event, rather it will apply to the NEXT event with Del Val CCA, correct?

It will apply to a future 2013 Del Val or Pocono if you haven't signed up already. It doesn't automatically show up on your account on motorsportreg, you have to email the registrar.

Well I never got the rebuilt diff in time but I will be there with the stock one legger in there. Not that it really matters for a newb like me.

Looks like the weather should hold up.

Cool!
Try to setup near garage 24. Look for a guy with a Porsche 944 turbo with an LS1. He's my instructor.

I am going through withdrawal, I must get back on Lightning. The one day I have on Nov 3-4 w/ PCA is not enough!

I am running on 18x9 OZ Racing wheels with BFG R1 tires. Insane grip, they add another level to the driving experience.

Enjoy.

I got home a few hours ago from the glen and have had a chance to shower, relax, self medicate and reflect.

What a great weekend. The people were great (as expected), the experience was wonderful. I went into the weekend as a newbie with no ego knowing that I would impress nobody, absobed info as much as I could and realized very real gains in skill and confidence thanks to an instructor who could clearly communicate in no uncertain terms. Needless to say I am hooked (line and sinker..). I can't wait for next year and wish I didn't wait so long. Here's a pic, well two.

It was a great time! I love this track.

Saturday was quite wet, so I was really loving it. I enjoy driving in the rain, it's a great equalizer for HP.
Sunday was much dryer and I put the R-comps on so really pushed the car as hard as I could. Ended up running a 2:24 as my quickest time.

Met quite a few fellow e90post members along with a bunch of other really good people. Seneca Lodge was fun with the F1 history and decent food/beer as usual.

Art took a bunch of pics of Eric and myself, so hopefully we'll get them posted later this week.

BTW: This may be my last HPDE. I'm hoping to build a Z4 race car over the winter and get my competition license with SCCA in the spring.
Hopefully in the near future, I can be an instructor at the events and have some fun with everyone.

Never!

Almost forgot to mention. We ended up having lunch with Ari, the owner of Monticello Motorsports Club. Really nice guy! If the weather would have cooperated, I would have gotten a ride in his Radical V8! Yes, 420hp and only 1500lbs with MAJOR downforce. Sadly, the weather was not kind to me

Downforce ... the next level up for our cars. Rob are you still getting that aero kit installed on your car? I think at some point I want to get some downforce-producing device.

The problem is I actually have the kit, but I'm not going to develop/track my car anymore since I'm building a race car over the winter. I have to do a muffler delete to install the rear diffuser and that's going to cost me a bit of money and I don't want to invest any more money into my car.
Steve from Bimmerworks as well as turugara will have the kit installed on their 335s. It's a kit that will be able to put on and take off so you'll still be able to street drive your car. We are hoping to get real world data from the Bimmerworks car at The Glen.
I think this would be a huge plus for the performance of your car and not cost a lot of money. You may need to get a different front lip for the splitter, but you can take it off with the splitter and put the other one you have back on for street driving.

Here are a couple pics from Watkins Glen. I'm in mixed company!
First, having fun with a couple 1Ms.
Second pic is of Eric and myself doing a late-passing exercise. Lots of fun.
Third pic down the front straight.

BIG thanks to Splinterz88 for the pics!!!

Awesome pictures, I love the first picture with the orange 1M giving a passing signal.

I am trying not to change my exhaust. I guess I'll wait to see what happens to Steve's car. I would want to keep the kit on full time, not too interested in removing it unless it is absolutely necessary ... in which case it would not be practical. I am researching doing an APR wing/spoiler on the rear. Other than looking ridiculous on the street I think it would not affect driveability.
