From what I read, if you do this, be prepared for droning...

Muffler delete would be your best bet under $100 -- your typical muffler install will run you about half that.. Simply put, a muffler helps to keep the noise produced low and resonator serves to keep drone out. However, iirc, the n52 loses a bit of power generate through the back pressure of having an muffler but it compensates by losing the weight of the muffler. Google and YouTube if all else fails.

golf tee mod? I personally hated the muffler delete, couldn't stand it. I just bought a BMW Performance exhaust within a week and I coundn't be happier. If I was you I woud try deleting just the resonator and see how that sounds b/c if you do a muffler delete it will drone like crazy.

On my 330xi I have a remus muffler and a resonator delete. I like it and isn't infamously loud like a muffler delete, just right for me. I bought my Remus for $200 used. Other then exhaust, you can do a K&N air filter drop in. I'm doing that this weekend. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21590 You can get air scoops also
There isn't much for performance under $100. That's all I have in mind, I'm a college student and budget is always on my mind, that's all I've got for you. good luck! |
