Ello,
We I am back from my 2 week jolly in Dorset, Devon and Corwall.. Very nice it was too.. A day or so before I left some of you might remember me posting what my car was looking like after 3 months.. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=745207 Well, I fitted the boot spoiler and roof spolier as per the instructions and whilst they were feeling very very solidly stuck at the time after two weeks I have had to remove them as they were starting to come loose!! ![]() So can I ask others who have fitted them did they do anything additional to the instructions? I am now thinking of buying better sticking tape and some kind of bonding glue.. I have to ask - as I think it might have been missing but should there have been some kind of bonding glue included? All I recieved was the spoilers, and a small generic instruction book.. I ordered my set from BC MOTO. Thanks Tarbs |

Will be watching this as I think your rear spoiler looks perfect. Do you have a link to it? I've seen some on ebay that dont make it to the edge of the boot lid and that would just wind me up something chronic!!!
Like this one for example! ![]() Last edited by SiofChester; 10-01-2012 at 10:34 AM. |

What did you use to stick the spoiler down???
Did you correctly prepare the surface? (i.e clay to remove all contaminants and rub down with IPA/surgical spirit) I used no more nails double sided tape (red) and haven't had an issue with the front aero or m3 boot lid spoilers.

Mine (from Taiwan) came with a surface prep fluid and two strips of 3M double-sided tape. No adhesion issues so far (five months on).

I got mine from BCMOTO (as per pic) and the fitment issue is up to the applier! mine fits perfectly (e90), and I cleaned the surface using the alchol/spirit pouch that came with it and the 3M double sided tape and everything is fine so far!

BC Moto one here too and I just followed the instructions: cleaned the surface with IPA, used the sachet of sticky stuff, waited a bit for it to go tacky, then stuck it down with the 3m tape that was already attached. Still firm today after a good few weeks.

Can He?

BC moto one here, I clayed my boot surface, used that alcohol tissue he supplied and then just stuck the spoiler down carefully with the already applied 3m tape from the supplier.
Few weeks on and still going strong!

Nope. From Taiwan via eBay...at a fraction of the cost of the BMW part. Fit and colour match perfect.

Hi guys...
I may have just got unlucky.. I did prepare the surface properly.. I didnt do the clay bar preparation but wil this time.. I did use a very good cleaner... I think I need to now do it again and use my own 3m tape. I didnt use any glue which is where I have obviously gone wrong.. Also I am not saying it was flapping about either.. I just knew it had the potential to come loose in a short time.. I had done a 1000 miles in various weather in a short period... Link to my set (AC roof and M3 lip) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PAINTED-BM...item3cca5fb5ac From BC Moto BE PREPARED FOR A CUSTOMS BILL!!!!! I got one.. £17 ish. |
