Porsche's do not play in the salt... I'm not saying they can't... Just if you really cared about it you wouldn't do it...
The winter process is painful but when you can take it out again... in that order

Yea, havent driven my car in 2 days and I am getting an itch to drive it. going 4-5 months will make me go crazy.

Kinda looking at the BRZ . . .

I am guessing not a great winter car.

Leave the money in your bank or put it towards new turbos, it will handle the winter fine. Storing it isn't going to keep it from depreciating in value. You bought a porsche for a reason, drive it, be seen in it. What good does it do you in your garage? There's only a couple of days out the year where the snow is really bad and as long as you wash it regularly it will be fine.

lol, ive always been all about having two cars but have come to the conclusion that unless you get a beater for free, or extremely cheap, it's just a waste of money.

If I could save just 5k miles a year over three years I would get the following savings. Fuel $4,250, one 20k mile maintenance on the 911, $2,500, 3 oil changes $750, Insurance $2k. Lets say just $2.500 more for the the rest of maintenance costs like brakes, tires, etc for an even $12,000. Thats a savings of $333 a month that after three eyars would leave me with a turbo with only 65k miles vs. 80k miles. And I am sure I could cut out more miles than just 5k a year on trips that didnt matter, mainly to clients. And it would actually be a lot easier to ask for rate increases with my clients rolling up in a mini vs. the damn 911.

So I am hard pressed not to think its a no brainer.

well yeah thats savings on not driving your car but then factor in the price of another car, insurance and fuel on that, tires, brakes, other stuff not in the maintenance plan. Plus youd be driving a mini everyday rather than a PORSCHE. Probably factor in picking up at least 3 times as many chicks in the P than the mini over three years so say 10 a year over 3 years, each one worth about 1k compared to the price of a hooker, thats 30k alone right there.

The numbers I listed consdered the difference between having just the 911 and the 911 and the other car for fuel and insurance. A 2011 or 2012 car would have brakes, tires and other stuff sufficent to go the 20k miles I would use it for.

The cost really is a wash however you look at it. It really comes down with dealing with a second car and getting to save miles on the 911. And its not like I dont still have a 911.

I would be driving a mini solely for 3 months, but thats my busy season where I literally dont do anything out side of work except go get groceries, gas and work out. Any ass I get is a boot call and that shits so pathetic having a pulse is all thats required from me.

The most I will pay for sex is the cost of dinner and a movie, so no savings there.

I have my car washed every week in the winter, with a good detail salt really isn't a problem. Rock chips from salt trucks are a bigger worry. That and people who don't know how to drive in the snow who may plow into you.

I estimated the 911 was running me $100 more a month. My estimate was off.
