Wow this all sounds like great fun... And for $1999 that's a killer deal.

I too am thinking about this, but by the time I get to actually do it the price would have gone up and ill be grabbing stage III so that I can make over 500whp on 91

-that and fix those annoying WG!!!

It's definitively easier if it's not your only vehicle I found that out the hard way 10 years ago in my early modding phase. Major upgrades like these can be done by DIY'ers if you have the time, tools, a bit of know how in instalation and tuning and a secondary vehicle. Because something always goes wrong lol.

I used to own a Toyota Hilux or my dad used to own one, it's what I learned to drive stick with. It was a very reliable truck. Anyways good luck on the turbo install and I look forward to the review of the turbo.

Let me just start by saying I hate you all lol...

I was definitely considering this because my WG are absolutely terrible (super rattle) and my stock turbos have 85.000 kms so I figured I'd do both at the same time.

Since I can't afford $3-4k right now, does anyone know any good vendors that would sell the WG assemblies (whole thing) to replace the stockers for now? I'm pulling hair out with this rattle and would love to fix it.

Zebra,

Adjust your actuators- very likely that will quiet you down quite abit or possibly entirely.

Its not the waste gate actuator its self thats the issue actually RB turbos and Vargas use the stock actuator.

its the flapper inside the turbos thats the rattling issue.
you can adjust the rear one but good luck with the front one lol

Vargas stage 1s are 1299-1499. I think a set of new OEMs is around 1200 from tischer. there is also a guy selling creaminz old AWD turbos that i bet you could get REAL cheap. Other than that there are a few DIY threads on here to fix WG rattle and a few guys have had some real success doing it.
