BMS DCI Install question

When installing I had to remove a hose which made an Air sucking noise as I removed it. Is this normal? Im also going to follow up with a pic of finished product. It just fits so awkwardly so I want tomake sure mine looks correct. Thanks

It made a sound when you unplugged it, that sounds like you are installing the intakes while the car was running? Umm, first mistake.

Did you follow the directions on their page or the ones sent in the box? There is only one hose you unplug and then you plug it right back in.

No sir the car was deffinately not running. I followed directions on their website. It said to unplug it as one of the first steps and one of the last steps was to reconnect it

The exact directions from their install guide is "Detach hose from airbox by squeezing base and lifting straight up, and pop hose out of
airbox base clips"

It's not tight by any means, but BMS updated their filters around June so they are going to be bigger than the old ones.

OP, it's normal to hear that sound. If you don't hear it, you have an issue.

This is my bay with the bigger filters:

It's just a vacuum line that loses the built up pressure when you disconnect it. Nothing to worry about.

I unplugged the hose and got the same vacuum sound. Definitely normal. However, I accidentally turned the car on thinking I was done and revved a few times. (brakes didnt work so I think that has something to do with the vacuum) but a weird side effect, the car was able to climb RPMs SO much faster and had a lot more burbbling and etc. Sounded Great! But plugged the hose back in and back to normal audibleness.

um if I recall, you don't hear the vacuum sound if the car has been sitting for a while, like overnight. It didn't on mine, but when I removed the line after driving I hear the vacuum sound.
