04's were rough, The 06 was still a 1stgen but it was a refresh year. It was much better than the 04's interior wise
but still a step down from BMW fit n finish..

It was very fast though, Way faster than my E90 and very reliable but I like the euro styling way better and i missed my E30

It used to be unimportant to me whether my car was an automatic transmission or manual, but now I feel a craving for a manual transmission. Not only that, you guys know that the this 328i won't gain as much performance with aftermarket parts unless I spend some serious cash, which I don't have because I am a full-time student. So far I've only spent money on an axle-back exhaust and window tints.

I kind of want to spend a little money on the exterior cosmetic look, but then again what's the point if it's an automatic with a noticeable lag in acceleration, mismatching with the looks?

I guess I want to ask you other automatic 328i owners on how you enjoy your car on a daily basis. Is it worth sprucing up the looks even though it's an automatic? How do you mod your 328i and is it worth it? Or do you guys think my priorities are out of line, and that I should wait for the future to buy a car more to my liking?
I know what you are going through, I had a 09 E90 328i for 3 years. After about a year of ownership I was looking for more performance, so I purchased and installed the BMS power box. It cost me less than $300 new, you could find one in the classified section for about half of that. It’s one of those things you could feel safe buying used as there is really no way to directly abuse it. The adjustable throttle re-mapping made the 328i feel like a completely different car, the 90% re-mapping selection removed the entire throttle lag. There are 7 different map selections to choose from, all adjustable from the driver’s seat in seconds. I even had the car in for multiple service and warranty visits to the dealer, including re-programming the E90 software without issue.

That's what I was thinking too. I know the G35 is much faster, but the BMW interior looks so much better imho. You kind of give up one thing for another when you compare these two cars.

Yes it is, Same on 350/370z... Drivers seat has almost like a center bolster
that lies between your legs. Drivers seat is a little more aggressive.

Exactly, I knew this going into buying my E90... Was going to get a 335 but didnt wanna worry about the extra reliability issues.. + the E90 is my relaxin car for cruising w all the real options ( sport / HID / etc ) im happy.. When I want speed and boost I take my 12second Sentra out for a ride

I never knew that. I was going to make fun of the Japanese cost-cutting, but I guess they did it on purpose.

I have a 328 coupe and I enjoy it. Yes there were times I regretted not getting a manual or paying the extra for a 335, but at the end of the day, I shouldn't be talking....cause I should be very grateful to have a beautiful 328i (I came from a hyundai lol). I did cosmetic mods and it turned wonderful and even better than I expected in terms of looks. To me, there are always cars that will be faster but the 328i handles and is probably just as quick or slightly more quicker than an average car. You said you're a full time student too, having your 328i E90 is already a nice car, most full time students I know have no car or have beaters. To answer your questions, I enjoy mine and I used to be in your position for a while but I learned to stop comparing or thinking about would I should of got because owning a BMW is already a blessing.

It does look a lil funny so I see what you mean lol. It was a good car def cheaped on interior to offer the performance it did at the price point.

Yeah definitely hard to beat, especially when it was out. The performance is average now compared with the 335, but when it came out it was way faster than the E46 325 & 330.

Yep but now you have the G37 w/332HP 7500Rev Limit and 14" 4piston up front and 13.8s w/2 piston out back... Still not gonna beat the bang for the buck when you put a tune on a forced induction car.

335's become beasts with a tune, that sound too from an inline 6 mmmm
