Sky Magic Eye

We are just getting to digital switchover here in NI in the next few weeks. My only problem was the kitchen TV which needed replaced. Generally we watch other TVs through the house via the Sky Magic Eye thing as the kids are young and in bed when we are watching TV. The only real exception is the kitchen TV where we may watch morning programmes while the kids watch their stuff in the lounge.

No big hassle but does this mean switching the klitchen TV from analogue where it picks up the Sky signal to digital so it can get the Freeview stuff, is there a way to pick up the Sky signal in the digital range of channels?

Also at moment pic is ok but not great on Freeview, this may improve on Switchover will it? If it doesn't is it a new aerial or whats the options?

You would have to change the kitchen TV or get a digi box to get the freeview stuff on it but if you only watched Sky TV through it via the RF lead connected to the Sky box and using a magic eye then you can keep it. It's the Sky box that decodes the digital, you are simply sending an AV signal to your kitchen TV.

I hope that's right, someone may be along to correct me.

I have already bought a new digi TV for the kitchen, its really whether there is a simple way of getting the Sky signal alongside the other digi channels.

Just switch the input to the sky (analogue) input on the TV.

You won't have it all in a single remote or anything like that - short of possibly getting plex or similar in the middle, or a slingbox and a smart app depending on how clever the tv you bought is ..
