I parked, found all i had was a $5 bill so I left car unlocked and walked across rd to get change. When i came back 2 mins later parking guy was putting a $30 ticket on my car. I had a Drs appt so I wasnt going to leave my car on Yonge st for an hr.eithout paying for pkg. I very politely explained what i had done and He called me a liar. I escalated it..they called me a liar. Incredible.

Its the same people who hate cops, until your house is broken into and then who do you call first? I hate people that pull up to a toll booth and arent ready with change either, you know its coming just get ready.

Cops are supposed to "Serve and Protect" (in theory), while parking guys just "Serve and Collect".

Yea parking tickets suck, the city knows its not worth your day to fight a bad ticket, so most people just pay. Its another revenue source for them..

don't hate them, they are just doing their job. you can hate the system if you want. but I personally don't want people parking on major downtown streets and causing traffic when I am trying to get to work in the a.m. I laugh when I see cars getting towed in the morning while parked in "no standing" zones. do these people have brains?

It depends if you parked in a commercial paid parking lot or just a normal parking lot. If it was in a normal parking lot, that ticket is a scam, chuck it. If it was a paid parking area, you may want to pay/call in to dispute. They very rarely send to collections, but they could tow you if you ever park on one of their lots again.

How is that a scam? You parked....didn't pay...and got a ticket. I bet you'll slug 50 cents into the machine next time won't you? That guy has no idea how long you had been there. Its a pain in the ass but I ALWAYS pay now regardless of how long I'm stopping. no worth the shi& storm.

if its private property you dont have to pay it.

just as if you parked in my driveway and i gave you a ticket.

its all bull, same bull York university does. gives out their own tickets. never paid any of them. had like 3 $100 tickets for fire route.

just as someone mentioned they could tow you next time tho. In my case York wont let you graduate, but the car i was using had ownership that was not in my name hehe

I've been tagged at 12:01 AM before and I got to the car at 12:03. The ass-bag was on the other side of the street ticketing every car in sight.

Read the signs. You pay if you don't play. This is their fault how? For your stupidity?

I don't see anywhere that says that that is a pay-parking zone....Throw the ticket in the garbage and if a collections agency ever calls you, tell them to fuck off. The End.

I did four years at U of T and I got over $2000 a year in parking tickets and I have the receipt from the DMV when I had to pay them to renew my tags to prove it. The last year my ticket total was around $3500 I said fuck that, I got rid of my car and got my 335 so I don't have to pay it.

I hate, with a passion, the ticket rent-a-cops downtown.

You guys have it lucky. In Chicago you get a 250 buck ticket for having tinted windows. Meter guys come every 10 min or so you will def be ticketed.
