Thanks guys!

I've got a BMS oil catch can to do next week, then my focus will be lowering slightly and the interior.

1SH - hey, do you have any pics of your car with the gloss black alloys - been thinking of it myself, but need some reassurance!

Very nice.

I'm currently in the market for a 335i and grey is my preferred coloured. The CSL wheels look fantastic and really suit the car.

Bit of an update -

Eibach prokit in, but totally forgot that i had the supreme-power perches were still in and now the front is too low, getting fixed next week!

More interestingly, just done the 'm3-style' cluster work, and all seems to be working grand.

Couldnt find m3 needles, so modified M5 ones instead. Only difference is that the M5 ones have a larger pole for attachment to the guage faces. I had to make a sleeve to decrease their internal diameter (out of a piece of wire insulation) and file away about 5mm of length so the needles fit down far enough.

Here's a pic of them at the mo.... excited to see them once it gets darker!

haha! Yes, very - Although that looks a lot lower than it should be! I sneakily waited until the fuel light came on so it was exactly an 1/8th.

Need to push one needle on a little more, so I'll fix that and the fuel tomorrow!

Should've known it was too good to be true!

Opened the cluster today to move the fuel needle into it's correct position, and all seemed grand.... But....

It seems the needle resets itself lower and lower each time - each time the car is started and stopped. So it eventually ends up pointing nearly to 9oclock after a few on/offs.

What have I done wrong? Have I just put the needle on wrongly and need to adjust it somehow?

Update time!

Sorted all my cluster woes, then decided to buy an M3 cluster anyway. In the meantime my alloys were getting a hard time through some 'sacrificial driving' - some of the roads round me just aren't designed for 2 good sized cars passing each other - and so they were in need of a refurb.

I could have refurbed them to good as new, but decided to take a risk.....

Going to trial wrap a mirror in gloss black, but then I have to consider do I want to go down the route of a CSL style bootlid and maybe a more agressive bonnet or rear diffuser. The exterior might very well be finished as it stands however. Some folks have suggested it might need a carbon fibre lip underneath the front bumper.

Thanks - not v expensive either as I took a risk on one of those eBay taiwan painted lips and it fitted and paint matched the very best. Gloss grills were cheap enough too, and I was able to paint the lower mesh myself. Then just the new 4Led Cree angel eye bulbs from TopGearSolutions in the USA.

Hey thanks! I got the wheel, gearknob and handbrake off eBay (all separately) over 2-3 months.

I knew I should have bought the BMW performance steering wheel last week and then I could have sold you mine!

Complete M3 rear subframe just arrived an hour ago - had a look and pretty much everything is as it should be, minus a rubber spring perch and a few other small bits, but the important stuff is attached! I'll strip the M3 brakes and hubs off this weekend and go from there!
