What is new in the new CIC high? Would it come on E6x?

New Gen3 CIC which is also known as NBT or CIC HIGH is a highly updated, tuned and well-done re-designed version of the good old CIC. Lots of new features, extremelly powerfull graphics and also all-in-one (Combox, BT, WiFi, etc.) concept has been applied to the new product by German engineers. They said that it's going to be available near the end of 2013. Yes, 2013...

2013 F10's are already shipping with HU_NBT.

i know Shawn... but instead of retrofitting the combox media to my 05/2010 it would be much nicer to have the NBT retrofitted.. ;-)

Sorry, I figured out what you actually meant after I reread it.

I might be interested in this too, except I already have a Combox, so due to the NBT Combox integration, I'll end up paying for something I already have and don't need. I guess I could eBay it though along with HU_CIC.

I am curious though about all my current CIC FSC's for Navigation, Voice Recognition, Maps, Sat Radio, and BMW Apps. Can they be transfered, or is a hardware emulator going to be required? And if the emulator for Nav and Voice Recognition, what then about Maps, Sat Radio, and BMW Apps?

NBT retrofit for F-series is already developed. Right now 3 beta-testers are testing the retrofit (2 F10 and 1 F30). We expect that NBT rertrofit will be commercially available for F-series at the end of 2012/beginning of 2013.

Please note the correction in earlier post: NBT for F-series should be commercially available at the end of 2012/beginning of 2013. We expect E-NBT for E-series to follow later in 2013.

FSC codes for NBT are different, so they cannot be transferred from CIC. In order to activate BMW apps, maps, etc. additional FSC code will be required, but Combox will be built into the NBT.

Purchased the CIC retrofit via GroupBuy back in June. Received the unit couple weeks later. Been emailing BimmerRetrofit back and forth since this summer.

It's already Dec and they still don't have an authorized installer in the Los Angeles / SoCal area.

Can anybody help out?

Valencia European turned out to be quite unprofessional, and we are working to recruit a good location for our customers in the Los Angeles area, so we avoid making the same mistake twice. Members of our team have scheduled a business trip to Los Angeles in January to meet with several suitable installation locations. We have a very good installation location in Mountain View, CA and we invite you to visit that location. I understand it may not be very close, but it is the closest one to you at this time.

Fwiw, I was waiting on Valencia European (after a few run-arounds) to get their act together and be ready to do the install.
