yep. i never owned a turbo engine before. it felt kind of like NA before the tune but now you really feel that turbo kick in at 2.5k to 3k rpm. quite a difference.

do a simple flash tune on an NA engine and you'll probably struggle to feel anything.

What does the dyno say for 17.5 PSI on 94 octane?

I do miss that kind of juice from the 335, but gladly give it up for the balanced M3.

Let's see what next year brings.

335's run 8psi stock and the rule of thumb on this engine is 12 whp for each psi. So 15 psi( 7 psi increase) would be 84whp over stock. Pretty big difference!
A lo of people run 19 psi on their 335s with meth!

Yeah NA engines require a lot of mods for smaller gains.

On my old E92 M3 I added 55 whp (most stock M3's dyno at 345 whp on a wheel hub dyno) which got
Me to a tad over 400 whp by doing header back catless exhaust, pulley and ECU tune mated to catless system.

Turbos are fun but once you've gotten used to a fast responding engine like the M3's I just can't stand any form of lag anymore when I drive a forced induction car.

stock boost pressure on the 2.5L 4cylinder from the STi is 14.5 psi!! thats a lot of boost on that little engine. stage 1 tune brings about 17 psi. and the claim is 40hp gain at the crank. havent dyno'd this to verify yet but others have done the same and seems to be true.

so i guess Beemw335 is right, 12whp for each psi is a good rule of thumb.

did you do an ecu tune, pulleys, etc on your M yet?

i know you did the cat back exhaust but was curious if you did the rest already?

Yup. That is pretty much how it goes at this level for the size of engine and mods we do.

Nice gains. Dropping the A/C, new pulleys, flywheel, headers, air box and easy breathing 3" exhaust got me an extra 36hp/11tq. It's pretty hard to get anything extra out of the M3 without radical surgery. I've done all that there can be at my level. I either add small supercharger (6psi), update the existing S54 (increase bore, cams, head, blah, blah, blah), or replace it altogether with something cheap like and LS1 and transmission ( ...). Let's see what next year brings LOL. I may just go broke first haha

Nope... Just the cat back exhaust and I LOVE the sound.

The shorter gears and DCT make this car amazingly fast. I would love to race a full bolt on 6 speed like my old M vs the stock DCT.

one of my car's wheels had to be send in to the shop to get a slow leak taken care off... seems to be a problem with the seal between the two halves of the 2 piece rim. lesson learned --- stay away from multi-piece rims. they are a pain.

so i left my car ghetto style in the garage. my new anti theft method. the note says "wheel is NOT stolen"... just so i dont get phone calls from my neighbours in the middle of the night.

Are you trying to brag about your carbon ceramic brakes? Those are CC brakes right?
