M3 Brembo on my 335i
Gentlemen, I would appreciate your expertise
(maybe some vendors could chime in) I got a very good offer to buy a set of Brembos which are apparently in a very good condition. As it happens they come with a set of BBS CH 19s wrapped in some Michelin rubber... at least that's what I figured out from the picture so far. Both the brakes and wheels have been taken of a e92 M3. I will go see if they are any good next weekend. I've been trying to find more information about the M3 vs the non-M part numbers and fitment however I did not get very far. Can anyone enlighten me if the could be fitted to a non-M car? is it just the matter of specific adapters? Are the caliper part numbers generally the same? Maybe I would have to get a non-M specific set of discs? Lets keep this discussion on the topic ![]() I will appreciate your input only pic for now:

A friend of mine did this, i.e. installation of M3 front brake on his 335i. Not PnP at all, you need to replace the whole front axle. I don't remember all the details but can get you in touch with him should you need that.

This is a good thread:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=508485 Bottom line, I wouldn't do it and not only because you have to replace parts. The M3 has a different braking system entirely (different master cylinder) ... who knows what kind of effect that will have on braking performance.

I believe the hubs are different so you would need to swap to the M3 hubs; not a trivial undertaking.
If its a good deal, get the brembos and re-sell them, then get a 335i BBK. |

These brembo systems have have adapters that will make the capliper fit to several cars. The calipers are the same across a variety of vehicles so you just need to get the one for the 335i which should be easy if brembo makes the kit your are buying for the 335. You might also need to get the corresponding rotor hat as well.

The larger master on the M3 will give you a little less pedal travel with the same BBK, but other than that as long as you don't run out of travel in the master cylinder, its kind of a feel issue.
My .02 is you will probably never notice the displacement difference so don't stress about it. |

I'd just sell the BBK and get one made for the 335. |

Why? If the calipers are the same you just need the brackets and the master cylinder won't matter.

That might not matter. These are brembo brakes. They don't use the stock rotor. They use their own with a custom hat. All you need is the hat for the 335 which might be the same as the M3. If you cat get the hat separately then you need a pair of rotors. It's cheaper for Brembo to make different brackets and hats. The OP already has the calipers which are the most expensive part. Selling a used set and tryin to buy a new set would be very expensive.

If he gets brackets and hats, yes I agree it has a high probability of fitting.

OEM m3 master cylinder is larger for the front brakes. Quote:
If you're going to go through the work of adapting the system, you might as well find calipers off a totally diff car that can be had for dirt cheap and engineer the system yourself.

Now that they have been sold before I had a chance to see them, Im probably going to wait for those Alcons in the spring.
But I do have a brilliant guy who does those conversions regularly. Last time I checked with him he fitted my friends M6 with a set of Porsche ceramic brakes - amazing job, amazing brakes - Its the first time ever that I felt the tyres (Stock tyre/stock wheels) being the weakest part of the whole system ![]()
