Question Carbon Fiber hood!!!

I got my carbon fiber hood in the mail today. And I know u have to take everything off the old hood and put new one. But I was wondering about the rubber parts and heat protector pad. Thanks ahead of time.

most likely yes you will need to use all the parts from the original hood

i just moved the front 2 pins and that was all.
My carbon vented hood from **********s didnt have anywhere to put heatsheilding or whatever rubber bits your talking about.
also only use 1 strut as 2 struts will be too strong to close the hood.

Yep, that's what I did... Shaved the pegs and used double-sided tape.

My Seibon hood had marks for the holes and I drilled it. I used struts from M3 (aluminum hood).

I mean... I hit speeds of 140mph+ in that car with it double-sided taped on and it never moved. Not through rain, or anything. They are cheap to replace, so I shrugged and slapped it on, not knowing what to expect. It works better than you'd expect, lol. I just didn't want to drill into a $1k hood and screw it up.

You'll be fine unless you have open filters sitting under the vents.

Tape the emblem and the holes are fine.... A little water won't hurt..

Don't drill holes...The carbon is thin and the plastic clips don't stay in that we'll anyway..

If you have an alarm you will have to relocate the hood switch..

This is an easy install but take your time because there is some drilling under the hood.

I remember like 5 years ago someone asked that on IWSTI... about the massive hoodscoops on the STi's.

rainwater will hardly ruin the car, unless you are running a straight up filter right underneath and it is downpouring.

As far as double sided tape, prep the surface right... and the doublesided tape will adhere very well.

Don't be freaked out... people use doublesided tape for all sorts of shit nowadays.
