1/4 mile Results - Pacific Raceways

First of all, let me just say that this was my first time ever at the Drag Strip, and I had an absolute blast. It was awesome. Talked to a lot of people and everybody was nice.

Track & Weather Conditions:
Altitude: Sea level
Temps: 90+ F for 3-4 hours, and later on 80+ F
Winds: Low
Overall, as you can see, the conditions were pretty crappy. Hot for the turbos.

I was very surprised of the performance of most cars there. This reminds me of the LACR times that the So Cal guys are reporting. Very similar.

There were about 5-6 BMW (540, 2 M3s, 2 E39 M5s and one E60 M5).

I cannot believe how crappy some of the cars were running, probably due to the poor conditions.

Here are some examples (not sure about their traps):

Red & Blue Pontiac GTO 5.7 14.2-14.7 sec
07 Mustang GTs 14.2-14.5 sec
Honda Civic modded - 16+ sec
Crysler 300C 345hp - 14.2-14.5 sec
Stock E46 M3's - 13.5-13.7 @ 102 sec (not bad! )
Stock E39 M5 silver - best run 13.3 sec
Stock E60 M5 black - best run 13.0 sec @ 111 mph (ouch! )
E39 M5 Dinan Supercharged 600hp - 12.8 @ 111+ mph (bad driver? and lots of wheel spin!)
Stock Nissan 350z - 14.5 sec
Dodge SRT4 modded - 13.1 sec
04 Mustang Cobra Modded - 12.8 sec
07 Mustang GT Saleen Supercharged 450hp - 12.8 sec
Toyota Supra Modded - 12.8 sec
Stock 07 Corvette Z06 - 12.5 sec
Subaru WRX 2.5 stock non-turbo - 16+ sec (he said fu*k japanese cars, lol )

So everybody's time was pretty shity. I'm sure some of the drivers were not great either, but overall the hot 90+ F weather affected all the cars.

Time for me and the 335i PROcede. My car is an auto with paddle shifters.
Me: 230 lbs (i workout! lol )
Gas: 92 Shell, tank 1/4 full

I ran a total of 8-9 rounds and my times were extremely consistent.
My best time of the night was 13.1 @ 106 mph, which I have done twice.
The rest of the times were 13.2 - 13.3 @ 102-105 mph. Very consistent. The trap speeds are low for a PROcede, but the weather sucked.

Conclusion:
1. Very impressed with the steady awesome performance of the 335i PROcede. The ZF auto tranny is amazing, efficient, lightning fast and effortless. It was so easy to launch the car, even tough I know I have room for improvement. Need to practice launching more. I felt like most of the times I haven't launched aggresive enough because I was affraid of wheel spin. I think the stock RFT did an OK job.

2. I'm pretty sure that with more practice and better weather conditions I can get 12.8 - 12.9 in the 1/4 mile. Maybe better tires too.

3. It was shocking to see some of the fast cars run those times. I know the driver is very important, but this time we'll just blame it on the weather.

4. Shiv, I'm ready for my PROcede V2 now...and Charlie, I need those DPs.

I was a great experience and I can hardly wait to do it again.
Thanks for reading and sorry for the long post.

Those times are pretty good, and expected. A E39 M5 at LACR runs about 14.5 secs at 97mph! And M3s right around there too. 500HP AMGs barely got below 13.5. So your track is much better than 2700FT LACR.

My 60 ft times were very consistent also. Pretty much 2.0xx all the time. One time I got a 2.1xx and one time 1.9xx.

I used M mode and DS mode.
In M mode I got 13.1 launching at about 1800-2000.
In DS mode I was able to get 13.1 also launching at 2000.

I think my launches weren't aggressive enough. I hope I can get it into the high 12's next time with better weather and more practice.

Interesting. I'd like to get out to the track myself. I don't have the stock RFTs I'm curious of what times I will post.

RFT are not bad. But i think with good rubber your times should be better.

How bad was the wheel spin holding the RPM that high? I went to the track last night and anything over 1600 RPM spun the tires really bad.BTW I still have my RFT.

Get stickier, wider, non-RFTs and you'll all but eliminate your wheel/tire spin...even @ Moroso.

Wow, with V2, DPs, high octane, decent rubber, LSD, and some trivial weight loss (battery etc.), you should be in the mid 12s. FAAASSTT!

Ice,

Great numbers! I experienced your car's power a couple weeks ago at our e90 get together. You need my tires on your car for added traction. I need your Procede on my car for added power.

Met up with Seattle 335 last week on the spur of the moment. He took me for a ride in his 480 HP biturbo 997 and it was quite a rush.

Thanks for posting. That is great info. I always like to see our results stacked against some other high performance cars. Everybody just posts what they ran without any comparisons.
