I didn't end up getting it done in the end, you have to have a complete software upgrade for the car, it was around £180 however as my car is no longer under warranty they couldn't guarantee it if anything went wrong and I would be liable for any costs if it did so I decided not to go ahead, if your car is still in warranty then you may be able to get it updated F.O.C

Just wanted to add my recommendation for sieras5@inbox.lt. My nearest BMW dealer wouldn't sell the discs alone and wanted £22 for the discs + £190 for code + £150 labour - all or nothing!

Next dealer would sell separately - discs £33 and code £190.

sieras5@inbox.lt gave an almost immediate reply, wanted €50 for the code (£42), and code arrived withtin half an hour. Worked perfectly.

Total cost £64 - saving £298.

As you will have discovered if you updated yourself, there is no effort to the update at all. For a dealer to quote £150 labour is scandalous. Name and shame - BMW GB should remove their franchise, robbing c*nts.

Well, after this very helpful thread.

I received my discs from BMW in the post this morning. Sent an email (after paying my €50) to Sieras and received my code in less than 10 minutes

Currently sat in the car and I'm on disc 3 at 88.3%

But it'll be worth the wait and soon I should have the latest Premium 2012 maps

I questioned that when I received them and was told these were the most up to date maps! 2013 would not be released until 2013!

Could you let me have the part no and I'll question this again with them!

Hi I'm looking to get the 2013 update for my pro CIC HDD, anyone have a good link to grab the files from.

Can't see them on any file sharing sites and the link on gpsunderground has tons of files on sites that load a ton of pop ups and rubbish so not keen to use that!

When I did it I used the bittorrent available here:

Then burnt the .iso images contained to three dual-layer DVD+R discs. I used sieras5@inbox.lt for the FSC code.

Hoping the dealer will get back to me today to arrange that.

Already spoke to Sieras about the code and he confirms it was actually a 2013 code which works with the 2012 disc. The code can also be used more than once, which means I'm OK on that front.

Go to your Nav screen
iDrive knob to the right two or three times.
Then scroll right down to the bottom.
