HighPerformanceBulbs LED Sidemarkers
As mentioned in my other thread, I decided to do a full LED upgrade on my exterior lights. One thing that I absolutely wanted were amber turn signals, including the sidemarkers. Due to a color mismatch with the sidemarkers from MODMY3, I decided to try HPB's kit. I was pretty nervous since I was keeping the turn signal bulbs from MODMY3, so I didn't expect the color to match.
I was wrong, the HPB amber sidemarkers match perfectly, now everything looks like the stock amber color. My only concern was with the fitment, the bulbs were definitely tight pushing them in - I think the top LED chip was hitting the housing. I was able to snap it in, but you just have to be willing to press it in harder than the stock bulbs. Other than that, I am very pleased with these sidemarkers from HPB. |

I had the same problem with mine hitting inside housing. Talked to Fred @ HPB and he stated that it would be fine to carefully file down the length at the contact end - I used a small fine Swiss file and took them both down about 1/16" - still way more contact insertion length than needed & now they don't hit on inside

Yep, it's normal that it's so close. It was either that or an LED that had less output so it was worth the extra squeeze. These were all tested on my car first to ensure fitment and brightness, as well as being the test dummy for reliability and error free.
Glad to see people are finding HPB and their products up to the task and higher quality over some competitors that claim they are the "Same". |
