Other than using the identity of that car on another stolen car, what reason would you buy that?

That was exactly what I thought he was up to.

Would the police take an interest in this?

Any of you Police chaps care to comment?

Nobody surley? It must be some sort of joke. He would have to pay a couple hundred to get it removed.

So the fire got the car hot enough to buckle steel. But the alloys are pretty much in tact?

it gives the impression that someone misrepresented himself on his proposal form and got found at claims time as fire is a covered peril with no geographic exclusions.

it is unlikely you'd be third party only with a car of that value and you could not get third party/theft only cover without fire.

Wigan you'd want theft cover unless you had a big hungry dog sat in the driver's seat, so the minimum policy would be TPFT. Only reason not to pay: lied on proposal form so policy void or, suspected arson therefore refused to pay.

Reckon its not been declared... someone is gonna buy it .. tow it somewhere.. set fire to it again and claim off it.

The guy will say he sold the car in perfect condition.

In short.. insurance fraud.

He has tried to claim I think. How would he know/assume his insurance was void?

I would imagine the insurance company knows the car is subject of non payment and a complete loss.

This Car Oes Me Just Over 4000, Unfortunately I Was Un-Insured For Where The Fire Was Located So My Insurance Was Void & I'm At A Major Loss...

It read as if he had insurance but didn't pay out.

No idea what is going on, but you would be mental/criminal to touch it.

A scrap yard could strip that and make more than 4000 on the parts alone. It all sound a bit fishy to me.

You are looking at the before pictures.

The car is completely burned out now.

1000 for a car I doubt a single part can be saved.

Probably insure as a garaged car, and was parked on the street or something. Some of my policies have stated that if the car isn't garaged, while at my home address, then it wont be insured.

So if you go to visit someone or even take your car out for a drive and stop for some lunch you are not insured as it is not in your garage?

What if you were driving down the motorway and it set on fire. No insurance as it was not in your garage?

doesn't sound like a very good insurance policy to me.
