what DP + Exhaust combo will pass emissions?
So i moved to Texas from FL and in FL we don't have emissions... before i would just buy everything straight pipe with no cats and call it a day. Now i have to be a bit more mindful...
anyone know the right combo(s) regarding catless/catted downpipes, exhaust, primary, seconday cats, etc., so that i can still pass emissions? I was thinking something like catless downpipe, keep both primary and seconday cats, and just get an axle back exhaust like the BMW PE. would this setup pass emissions? thanks! |

To be honest, you can always 'pass' an emissions test. You just have to ask around and see what testing facilities will pass you. Trust me they are more common then not. Just for reference, mufflers have zero affect on emissions. They are strictly for sound. |

It doesn't matter, just do the drive cycle to the T, and you'll be able to pass no problem.
Are you tuned? FYI, I'm stg3 catless Vishnu tuned, and I passed with flying color.

I am catless and I pass emissions. I do have a O2 simulator for OBD readiness. If your state doesn't require this, then any section 3 exhaust would be good coupled with catted DPs to pass emissions testing which I have no idea why you need this

im in TX and i just read they dont use the sniffer on OBDII cars. they only plug in and check for readiness, which means, correct me if im wrong, i need that BMS DP Fix + my procede CANclear OFF, map 0.
please correct me if im wrong though. |

procede has a built in o2 sensor if you have the older harnass. If you have the newer procede harnass and the Rev3 then you have to wire it back to where o2 sims work. There is a thread on this. If you don't want the hassle of wiring it back and forth then yeah. O2 sims and canclear off is your solution

yeah i have the older wire harness (iirc), but i also read i still need to turn OFF CANclear and still need the BMS DP Fix. my understanding is that the CANclear ON will fail my readiness in OBDII.

The PROcede has an O2 modifier. You just need to make sure the wiring harness doesn't have the O2 patch and set your O2 modifier to 50 and CAN Clear disabled. You'll need a ready state tester to see when you're car hit's ready state. Then go to the testing facility, check again because you don't want to fail the test.

I don't have an extra o2 modifier besides the one procede has built in. I use INPA to test for obd readiness before I bring it in for the test.
