The HD-RLC remote level controller works with JL Audio's HD Series and XD Series amplifiers and many marine amps (not compatible with JL Audio Amplifiers featuring 'Remote Bass Port'), allowing you to manage (attenuate) your level settings from the front of your vehicle. The HD-RLC adjusts your amplifier's level, not its "bass boost," so you maintain the same bass quality as you turn the volume up and down.

> Can be used as a true subwoofer level control or as a master volume control.

It works equally well with subwoofer and full-range amplifiers, and you can control multiple amplifiers with just one remote by adding standard phone cable splitter (not included). When used with the HD600/4 4-channel amplifier, you can assign it to control all channels, or the rear channels only.

The jack exists on your amp, but JL Audio lists the RBC-1 (Remote Bass Control) for the 500/1v2 & the JX500/1 so that you can remotely control the Bass EQ of a single amp or all amps in a Master/Slave Config.

Funny thing is, the RBC-1 looks exactly like the RLC unit I have - its just a phone cord with a seperate rotary knob...

Too far - I'm about 35 mi East of Pittsburgh.

I checked into it for you with JL Audio - they state even though they look the same, the internal circuit board is different & one will not work for the other...

Hi-

I was wondering if the JL Audio HD-RLC (Remote Level Control) #98118 can be used with the JL Audio 500/1v2 or JX500/1 as the Remote Bass Control?

I know the 500slash series amps claim that they need the RBC-1 (Remote Bass Control) unit, but the HD-RLC & RBC-1 look exactly alike - all they are is a phone cord with a rotary knob.

Let me know...
