Garage List
I got one of these for my 325i:

via Juiced Up Tuning in the UK. But note that mine is the N53 DI engine, so may use different plugs. Why not get in touch with Juiced Up?

in order not to open a new thread, can someone advise me of the tool needed for a 320i N46 engine sprak plugs socket?
is it the same that it used in other engines' spark plugs like the one posted above?
a thin walled 12 point 14mm socket?
or should I buy a 16mm socket?
through my research a read that volvo use same sizing socket.
many thanks

Buy your new spark plugs and take one to the tool shop and find a the slimmest socket to fit.

Looking on realoem your plugs look like fairly chunky regular hex socket:

Whereas the 335i / N54 that needs a thin walled 12 point socket has thinner plugs like this:

I've changed my spark plugs with a normal Halfords short plug socket taped to an extension. Not particularly thin and not particularly long, just good tape! Easier with a long socket though as they sit quite deep.

Why do you need to tape the extension on? It should click on?

clicks on, but on some spark sockets the rubber insert grabs the plugs too tightly. Withdraw in haste and you'll leave the socket on the plug. A pain which a cup of tea and a nice sit solves, but a longer socket helps in case this happens.

Voice of experience eh?

My plug socket has tiny sprung fingers to hold the plug, not as 'sticky' as the rubber rings can be.

@ doughboy many thanks! so stupid, i never clicked on the photo icon...
from realoem I only visited :
RealOEM.com Home => Select another car => Engine electrical system => Ignition system => IGNITION COIL/SPARK PLUG

in which you can see a generic icon of a 12 point spark plug...but if you click on the icon in the right of the index, then you see the true image of a regular hex spark plug...the one you also posted here!
i have found my spark plugs from ebay, ngk laser iridium IZFR6H11 about 9 each. i believe is the cheapest till now

@ wallsmk2 thanks for the info mate.
