+1. I have this issue on my passenger mirror and I am 5 months out of warranty. I brought it up a couple of times to the stealer's attention when I was still within the warranty period and they told me that it was b/c my battery was partially charged and sent me on my way. Too bad I didn't find this thread earlier. I still have this issue off and on and I'm wondering if they would address it now w/o charging me.

Mine was finally resolved after having the issues checked 6 times, battling it out with a SA and taking it up with the service manager.
It was finally replicable every time, mirrors would move when unlocking the car, and when they had moved, they wouldn't go back to stored memory positions. They replaced both motors and everything has been good now. It's been about a month and nothing has moved. They told me "BMW Canada" doesn't have access to the service bulletins. I printed out the TSB text from this thread and wouldn't you know it, they followed it and it's fixed. I am out of factory warranty now but my extended covered the mirror so was all good.

Does anyone know if it's possible to remove just the mirror glass and replace only the motor or do you have to order the entire assembly?

Is there a easy way of getting into the mirror housing to check out the wires? How much is a new motor? |

Has anyone had this issue fixed out of warranty? I'm having the same problem (auto tilt down is shut off and the unlocking/seat memory recall is shut off) and I'm curious what the out of pocket expense might be.
