Always adjusting interior mirror? - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Does anyone else have to readjust their interior rear view mirror every few days? Even though the mirror is not easy to move, it starts to move down over several days and does it more quickly on hot days. One time the car sat in the sun for 1 week and when I got back in, the mirror was pointing at the rear seats. I mentioned it to the service department and they said there is nothing wrong.

Nope, never touch it.

I have an appointment next week for disappearing coolant

never since i got the car and adjusted it the first time. you got warranty get it replaced or tightened

Thought it was just me... Now there's 2 of us. Let me know if you find out how to fix it.

Same here. Maybe once a week I have to adjust it back up. It's not a problem to me, so I'm not worried at all.

I thought it was the mirror all this time, but it's not. It's the seat position. For some strange reason, the memory seat position moves down a few millimeters regardless of outdoor/interior temperature. So one day, I reprogrammed seat position 1 where the seat should be and tied a fishing sinker on a string to the bottom of the steering wheel. The bottom of the sinker/weight was set just-so to touch the seating surface of the leather below. Sure enough by the next morning (8 hours later), the seat was about 1/4" lower than the night before. I repeated this experiment three days later ... same result.

My mirror never moves but it seems like I have to always adjust it again.. And sometimes I get in the seat it doesn't feel the same as last time. Interesting

Yep - on hot days I'll come to the car and the mirror will have tilted down by itself.

Occasionally I do. I asked my fiancÃ© if she's driving the car or moving it- no no such luck.
I think you're actually right- pretty crazy.

I thought it was only me, but the seat info sounds logical as the mirror seems to be tight.

Kind of a useless update, but unless I was willing to leave my car there for a week to see if the mirror moved, they could not do anything about it. Although others claim there seat is moving, I don't think that is the issue I'm having.

They also said there were no leaks in my coolant system even though the level goes down. So my visit turned out to be a waste of time

Ditto. Always assumed it's just road vibrations cause it to slowly move.
